More Information About FCM

FCM is a Biblically-based counseling ministry designed to aid individuals on their journey through the twists and turns of life with tools and insight based on the universal truths found in scripture.

All of us encounter challenging events and circumstances in life—relationship problems, illness, divorce, loss of loved ones, loss of job, as well as our own personal areas of weakness we struggle to overcome on an ongoing basis. Compounding these issues, however, is the struggle with the enemy of our souls whose main goal is to steal, kill, and destroy. The chief weapon he uses to accomplish these goals, and has been using even as far back as the Garden of Eden, is deception. His attacks start when we are very young as he capitalizes on our misperceptions of painful or uncomfortable events we experience.

At those times lies are laid down in our minds, inevitably formulating in each of us our own unique belief system. That belief system then becomes the lens through which we view others and the events in our world happening around us. Any lie we unwittingly come to believe as truth becomes fuel the enemy can use to create confusion and turmoil in our hearts, not to mention sinful actions and words. That's why the Lord knew all of us as his followers would need mind renewal as is talked about in Romans 12:2, "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

True freedom is what Jesus wants each of us to enjoy. "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free." (Galatians 5:1). But notice that Jesus says in John 8:32, "You will know the truth and the truth will set you free." We have seen it proven true at FCM that lies believed at a core level will block our ability to experience freedom and actually have a quenching affect on the Holy Spirit. However, the more people are able to live their daily lives based on truth that has been believed from the heart, the more they will experience and enjoy freedom and peace as well as joy in Christ in their daily lives no matter what their current circumstances. This truth we are talking about includes truths about ourselves and truths about God. It is our goal at FCM to see people living in and experiencing ever deepening levels of the true freedom that only Christ can give on a daily and even moment to moment basis. Below are other thoughts to consider concerning a Christian's freedom.

One of the reasons Jesus came to this earth was ". . . to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners." (Isaiah 61:1) Freedom and release are gifts he earnestly longs for his children to be able to possess and enjoy.

This freedom that the Lord wants his children to experience is absolutely glorious, " . . . the glorious freedom of the children of God." (Romans 8:21)

Jesus is the only one who has the power and the genuine authority to make us truly free. "If the son sets you free you will be free indeed." (John 8:36)

Wherever the Spirit of the Lord is able to move and breathe freely (is not quenched) freedom is the natural result. "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."

(II Corinthians 3:17)
